Color practice! I’ve been having tiny revelations about what I actually like (soft shadows, sharp highlights), and was thinking how some of my favorite coloring seems to be on shojo manga covers. So I tried to channel that a little more intentionally. I really like this, especially some of the details close up.
Also a big thing that helped wasn’t inking it black and then doing color holds – I made a new brush based on one of my original textures set on multiply and inked with colors and just went over them over and over to make them thicker and darker. I love this WAY more than previous attempts. I think if I do color stuff, I just gotta ink FOR color. Ink one way for color, the other for black and white. I think I’ll be happier and like the results way more.
Another coloring warmup/practice, this time for speed. I’m finding my happy place. But this is the last thing “for me” I get to draw for days cuz I have SO MUCH WORK TO DO
Needed to take a break from sexy comics where the anatomy has to be drawn/inked real tight. Drawing beesmygod‘s Lucy seemed like a good change of pace in regards to… that.
So my Weird September Mental Health stuff was complicated by fact I was completely stuck and frustrated trying to write and draw a porn story. But inspiration struck me on the plane trip home and I immediately started work on a new story, and I’m really enthusiastic about it.
It’s going to actually have a kinda serious plot, just a plot with plenty of opportunities for two adult ladies to go to bonetown on the regular in a visually arousing manner eh heh heh heh.
I don’t wanna talk about story too much til its online, but its about a woman who used to be a child-hero of a fantasy world, returning to it as an adult for reasons of love (and sex) for the princess she had to leave when returning to her world, only to pull a “Good Job Breaking It, Hero” in the process. And the adventure to fix that (and bone in pretty locations).
I haven’t been excited in a porn comic in months so I’m ridin this train pretty hard hahaha. Can’t wait to show it off. It’s gonna be pretty pretty sparkly pretty.

It was raining too hard to go for my daily walk and I got really cabin-fever-y, so I did the next best thing: sat on the apartment’s balcony in a rocking chair drawing cute robots in crop tops
My work has been off to a REALLY slow start this week, weirdly enough because thanks to travel, I’ve been doing tons of traditional art for days. Digital art felt really weird. I redrew that bone/skeleton themed magical girl from my sketch book as a warm up.
She’s just a cute design. I don’t got any story attached to her or anything. She just looks cool.
A rough color test for 1 of 2 Slipshine updates coming soon – well rough in that the sketch and anatomy is poopy. The coloring was the point of the test.
I’m finishing up the 8 pages that were supposed be in my last update but were delayed due to PC problems, and then I’m doing a 5-page short featuring THIS CUTIE. Wanted to figure out my palette and such n stuff.

This is only the second published comic I’ve ever done in color, and color is one of my weak points. I feel like I found a happy place, though, and hope y’all like it too! I also meant to share these sooner but I’ve been having computer troubles (gpu being shitty, I think). But I’m back on track.
OH HEY Here’s a practice I did awhile ago of my Croptop Robot girl, when I was trying to learn/practice coloring lineless, but in the end used lines anyway for my 2 recent color comics. This was still fun to do.
Finished this practice animation, first one I ever cleaned up. It’s choppy n’ weird, I gotta lot to learn. But it was fun to do. I wanna practice more if I can find the time.
Oh I forgot about this, a lineless color practice. FNAF f’nart of Mangle but attempting like a Low Poly Mangle? I dunno. It was fun. I don’t remember when I made this exactly. But I like it.
Finished that practice animation. Confined by CSP Pro’s 24-cell limit. Alas.
This is a fun break activity, like super relaxing. A great zen thing. You’ll prob see more of these from me as I learn cuz man sometimes when I take a break from work I don’t know what to do with myself, all my jobs and hobbies involve drawing. I mean this one does to but it feels different? The challenges are unique, there’s different problems to solve, I guess. Is what I’m saying. The brain needs different challenges to stay fresh.
Some pre-Iris and Angel warm-up doodles of Chablis. Starry Knight’s obviously delayed for awhile but that won’t stop me thinkin about it.
It’ll still launch, just probably first half of next year. All of my post-October plans have been tanked for awhile. But that’s okay it’s not like there’s a huge difference between Fall 2016 and late Spring 2017, in the lifespan of a comic anyway. 2017 is gonna be an interesting year.
